North Carolina Chapter Hosts Ninth PR and Marketing Seminar

The North Carolina Chapter hosted its ninth Public Relations & Marketing Seminar Nov. 3 at the Friday Center in Chapel Hill.  This full-day event attracted more than 100 communications professionals from throughout the region who participated in concurrent sessions, networking and informational round-table discussions.  David Burney, Fellow AIGA, CEO of New Kind, delivered a keynote address entitled “The Grasshopper’s Revenge” that advocated for creating environments that let creative people innovate.

“Thanks to Sarah Lamm, our seminar chair, and a host of volunteers for staging this very successful event,” said NCPRSA Chair Chuck Norman, APR. “Our initial feedback was very positive and we hope to follow up with an online survey for anyone who didn’t fill out an evaluation form on site.”

On Dec. 16, NCPRSA will hold its annual chapter meeting at Raleigh’s Capital City Club with PRSA Southeast District Chair Dr. Joseph Trahan delivering a keynote address entitled “The Gumbo Soup of Leadership.”  The annual meeting will also include a summary presentation of chapter highlights for 2010 and introduction of officers and board members for 2011.

NCPRSA will kick off the new year at one of Raleigh’s newest hot spots. The Chapter’s after-hours networking event will be held January 13 at Sparians Bowling Boutique & Bistro. Attendees should bring business cards, an appetite and their “A” game for bowling. More information will be available soon.
