Southeast PRSA Conference Brings Variety of Topics

The Southeast District PRSA Conference Sept. 19-21 will feature a variety of interesting break-out sessions, as well as exciting key note speakers. For example, Kevin Trowbridge will be discussing “#PRDefined and Redefined by Social Media.”

After a multiple month crowd-sourcing initiative, PRSA announced a new “modern definition” of public relations which emphasizes the relationships upon which an organization depends. This session will further examine the ways in which organization-public relationships are being enhanced and reconstituted through engagement using social media. With the premise that individuals prefer relationships with people as opposed to impersonal organizations, the presenter will share research-based strategies for an organization to effectively humanize itself through social media.

Trowbridge, a faculty member in the Department of Public Relations at Belmont University, is program chair for the conference and is a former president of the Lookout Chapter. For full conference details, visit www.seprsaconference.com .
